Since October 2009, BuLu is carrier of the Vorarlberg label “Outstanding family-friendly businesses.” The regional Minister for family affairs, Greti Schmid, awarded BuLu the seal of approval in the category of large companies with up to 150 employees. The jury particularly underlined the high level of support for tailor-made solutions and the open encouragement for women to return to work.
The participation at the competition „most family-friendly companies 2009“ was – despite the economic crisis – very high. Minister Schmid interpreted it as „a clear sign for the efforts of Vorarlberg companies to combine of family and career life. The awarded companies have achieved to a great extent the criteria allowing flexible working hours for women and men, motivation for education and training, support for parental leave and return, the possibility to take along children to the workplace, family-friendly vacation planning, the shared use of infrastructure for private purposes and family-friendly communication culture.
According to Minister Schmid, all could benefit from such measures, „because supporting parents in their family and working life will promote loyalty to the company.“ (vol.at/BuLu)
